An uncontested divorce is when neither party is objecting to the divorce. The two spouses are in agreement that a divorce is in their best interest, and they have no unresolved legal issues between them.
The first requirement that one party must have lived in Texas for a minimum of six months, and at least three months in the county where the divorce petition is filed. Uncontested divorces are most common with couples who have not been married very long, have not accumulated much property, and have no children.
Texas law requires those who are getting an uncontested divorce to meet certain criteria.
